Acer’s Predator Triton 500 marries Nvidia’s mobile RTX graphics with 144Hz G-Sync - eaglindazint1983
adam_patrick_murray@idg.com Mark walks us through the Acer Predator Triton 500 gaming laptop computer which marries Nvidia's mobile RTX graphics with a 144Hz G-Sync panel.
You might cry the Acer Predator Triton 500 the younger sibling of the mammoth Predator Triton 900. At $1,799, however, it's far-off cheaper—and you still get one of Nvidia's first mobile GeForce RTX 2080 ray-tracing GPUs inside of information technology.
Unlike the swiveling flexible joint that graces the Triton 900, the Triton 500 is a conventional gaming notebook, getable this February in North U.S.. The Triton 500 boasts a 15.6-inch 1080p display, with bezels that measure 6.3 millimetre on a side. Just information technology's a 144Hz, Nvidia G-Sync display, with 300 nits of brightness and 3ms refresh times, a homogeneous setup for gaming. Acer showed off its new notebook computer at CES 2019, Hera in Las Vegas.
The discreet pel count substance that the Newt 500's battery life is higher, at up to 8 hours, though that will apparently be heavily influenced by whether or non you'Ra typewriting a quick email surgery playingBattlefield V.
If there'sanycatch, information technology's that the Triton 500 isn't quite a full-fledged GeForce RTX 2080—it's a more get-up-and-go-efficient Max-Q variation. Though we don't quite hump what Nvidia will sacrifice to enable the Max-Q version of the mobile RTX 2080, the Max-Q version of the GTX 1080 enclosed "optimizations such as a scurvy voltage optimized clock curve that wrings out gambling public presentation piece reducing power."
Later this twelvemonth, Acer will issue a PredatorSense Rotatable app, which allows unaccessible control of overclocking, fan speed, lighting profiles and audio frequency. Users can also view and set aside customized macro key sets for energetic hotkeys.
Like the Acer Predator Triton 900, the spec sheet for the Newt 500 is really vague. We'ray hoping to get more specs soon.
